A modern city already watches itself. Thousands of CCTV cameras cover its intersections, avenues, terminals, and public spaces, recording every hour of every day. Yet almost all of that footage is only ever looked at after something goes wrong. Cities record everything and understand almost nothing.

Visual reasoning changes what a camera is. Instead of a passive record of the past, each camera becomes a live reading of the present: how traffic is flowing through an intersection, whether a road is clean or deteriorating, how a public space is being used, when a situation is becoming a safety concern.

No new sensors. No new infrastructure. The same cameras a city already owns, connected to intelligence that watches continuously, comprehends what it sees, and surfaces only what matters.

An Operating Picture of the City

Every well-run business has a dashboard. Most cities don't. City managers make decisions about traffic, sanitation, maintenance, and public safety based on complaints, periodic inspections, and reports that arrive days after the fact.

With visual reasoning across its camera network, a city gains what it has never had: a real-time operating picture. Which corridors are backing up and why. Which roads need cleaning or repair before residents call to complain. Where crowds are forming, where incidents are developing, where response teams should already be moving. Operations, utilization, and status — visible at a glance, city-wide.

The Same Discipline, at City Scale

We learned this discipline in autonomous retail, where our systems make thousands of decisions a day from vision alone — in live environments, on real infrastructure, in Southeast Asian conditions. A store that understands itself runs leaner, cleaner, and safer. A city is no different. It's just bigger.

We're deliberately brief about the how. What matters is the outcome: fewer hours lost to traffic, cleaner streets, faster response to incidents, and public resources deployed where the city actually needs them — not where the last report said it did.
